Fix Voice Chat in Hell Let Loose: Vietnam

Start by naming the symptom: no input, no output, the wrong channel, distorted voices or a channel that cuts out. These failures do not all have the same cause.

Quick voice chat checklist

  1. Confirm the correct squad, proximity or leadership channel is selected.
  2. Verify the intended microphone and output device in the operating system and game.
  3. Check microphone permission and make sure another app has not taken exclusive control.
  4. Test with one teammate before changing several settings.
  5. If voices are robotic, stuttering or cutting out, record the channel and match state; it may not be a local-device fault.

Current official issue status

● Fixed in Hotfix 1PS5 audio dropout

The developer says a PS5 issue that could remove audio for a period was resolved.

◷ Under investigationDistorted voice

The launch thread linked robotic or distorted voice to EOS and said work with partners was continuing.

○ Patch 1.3 targetKIA voice cut-out

Occasional voice stutter or cut-out while entering the Killed in Action screen was listed as a target, not a confirmed fix.

Check the device path

1. Select one microphone

Set the microphone you intend to use as the active input in the operating system and in the game. Disconnect unused virtual devices while testing only if you can restore them later.

2. Confirm permission

Make sure the game is allowed to use the microphone. If the device works in another app, that proves the hardware can capture sound; it does not prove the game has the correct device or permission.

3. Verify output separately

A working microphone does not prove the correct headset or speakers are selected. Test game audio and voice output as separate paths.

Test in game without changing everything

  1. Join a squad and identify one teammate who can answer.
  2. Select the correct channel and use its assigned talk input.
  3. Test one short message, then ask whether your voice is absent, quiet or distorted.
  4. Compare proximity and squad channels to see whether the failure is channel-specific.
  5. If the issue started at a death or respawn transition, record that state for the support report.

If it still fails

Save the platform, build, input and output device names, affected channel, server, match state and exact symptom. Include whether another app can use the microphone and whether the problem follows you into a second server.

Avoid destructive troubleshooting
Do not reinstall audio drivers, delete configuration folders or disable security software until a repeatable test points there and you have a recovery path.
